Summer refreshment on a charming patio - ptuj.info

Food

We discussed the brewing renaissance and where to explore beer in Ptuj with Marko Kolarič, the owner of Bodi café and a beer connoisseur.

Something is indisputable. Nothing beats thirst on a hot summer day better than a refreshing cold glass of beer. The owner of a charming café on Ulica heroja Lacka, which was selected the best bar by the Pivopis online portal for beer lovers for the third year in a row, says that, thanks to the microbrewery revolution, beer in Slovenia has managed to shake its reputations in the past few years as merely a cold drink on a hot summer day; by now it has emerged as a drink to be considered in the same discussions as other premium culinary products. Beer remains a thirst-quenching cold drink for hot summer days, but this tasty, refreshing beverage, which is the second most popular in the world right after tea, can also be paired with food, all in moderation, of course.

Bodi charmed its numerous patrons with its picturesque interior design, casual patio and seemingly endless selection of beer, offering over 120 different beers. Beer is one of the oldest drinks in the world, as people started brewing and drinking it already around the year 6000 BC in Mesopotamia. The café owner will share other interesting facts about beer over guided beer tastings.

The summer patio is the venue of numerous events, and a place to sit down and sample the creations of local brewers or the excellent homemade mixtures of beer and lemon or grapefruit juice.

Cheers!
