The vine route goes through the regions of Majšperk, Podlehnik, Cirkulane and spreads all the way to Zavrč.
Adventures of the past and the future
The castle of Borl is the place to experience a variety of traditional celebrations such as St Martin's Day in November, sounds of the wind rattle in August and the International Idriart Festival with concerts, workshops, lectures and meetings in the summer. There are many popular customs still going strong all over Haloze such as the Haloze ploughmen and "rusa", special carnival masks, village festivals, religious wakes, "jarmek" - the market on the pilgrimage path in Marijatrošt in Žetale - and many other opportunities for social gatherings, with the correct measure of home-made traditional Haloze dishes such as "ašenkol" (Haloze dry meat speciality), meat from "tunka", the Haloze gibanica (baked cheese flan, a la Haloze) and "krhljak" (warm cottage cheese and fruit bread).
You can also find wine cellars on the wine route such as Turčan, Švabovo, Golob and Lončarič. They offer wine tastings with a variety of wine and snacks on offer. Take a look into the cellars where more than a hundred litres of wine matures every year!
