The Town Municipality of Ptuj founded the Local Tourist Organisation (TIC) on 1st November 2001 to promote and foster the tourist development.
The Institution employs four persons (a director and three employees), and two persons within the public works programme.
The Institution is organised as a single-unit organisation within which operates also the Tourist Information Centre.
The TIC Ptuj gives out information to visitors through the Tourist Information Centre, promotes and co-creates the tourist offer in Ptuj and Slovenia, participates in activities of the Ptuj Tourist Association, and organises various events among which it is worth mentioning the KURENTOVANJE, the Summer Night of Ptuj, St Martin's Day (11th November), New Year's Eve, ...
The main aim of the TIC is to develop a common strategy for a more competitive presentation on foreign markets, to do research and to analyse feedback from potential and real markets, to organise a common promotional event on the town square, to develop a common marketing INFO-system, and to design the tourist offer in the Lower Drava region.
